Lyrics

All couples join hands and top couple lead everyone around to the right and back to place.
Goodbye girls, I'm going to Boston,
Goodbye girls, I'm going to Boston,
Goodbye girls, I'm going to Boston,
Early in the morning.

Form a circle and go once around to the left and back to place.
Saddle up, boys and let's go with them, (x3)
Early in the morning.

Top couple sashay to the bottom and back to the top.
Out of the way, you'll get run over, (x3)
Early in the morning.

Top couple face each other and give right hands to start a grand chain (left to the next person they meet, right to the next etc till they get back home .
Rights and lefts will make it better
Early in the morning.

Sing this chorus to fill in the time until all are back home.
Won't we look pretty in the ballroom? x3
Early in the morning.

Top couple starts a ‘strip the willow’ figure by linking right elbows and swinging once around. They then go to the next person in the opposite line and swing once by the left elbow. They meet their own partner (top couple) in the centre and swing once by the right elbow continuing until they get to the bottom of the set.
Swing your partner all the way to Boston, (x3)
Early in the morning.

Sing this chorus to fill in time and everyone can swing their partner once the top couple has past them.
Won't we look pretty in the ballroom?
Won't we look pretty in the ballroom?
Won't we look pretty in the ballroom?
Early in the morning.
