Formation: Jenny Jones and her mother sit or stand on one side or the room. All the friends stand on the other side.
This is a very odd game. Sometimes it can be disturbing so I tell a story before I start the game. I tell the children that Jenny Jones’ mother loved her daughter so much that she wanted her to stay home and play with her instead of with her friends. So she makes up excuses for why Jenny can’t play. Jenny overhears her friends singing and scolds her mother and chases her. When she catches her she makes her mother to promise not to do it again and they agree to spend some time playing with friends and some time playing with her mother.

Lyrics

1. We’ve come to see Miss Jenny Jones, Friends advance toward Jenny and her mother singing
Miss Jenny Jones, Miss Jenny Jones.
We’ve come to see Miss Jenny Jones, and how is she today?
Mother.says “she’s sleeping”
Fare thee well ladies, ladies, ladies, friends back-up and wave goodbye
Fare thee well ladies, and gentlemen all
2. Mother.says “She’s sick”
4.: Mother.says “She’s worse”
5. Mother.says “She’s dead”

friends sing

1. What shall we dress her in? Dress her in blue?
Blue is what the policemen wear, and that won’t do!
2.. What shall we dress her in? Dress her in red?
Red is what the soldiers wear, and that won’t do!
3. What shall we dress her in? Dress her in white?
White is what the angels wear, and that’s just right!

Jenny chases Mom around the room.
