Formation :: Squares Four couples facing into the middle of a square. Couple #1 has their back to the
‘band’, the couples are numbered counter clockwise from here . The “head couples” are couples #1 and #3. The “side couples” are couples #2 and #4. Your
“partner” is the one you asked to dance. “Your corner” is the person beside you who is not your partner.
It is essential to identify these rolls before the dance begins. Hannah likes to spend a few moments
‘quizzing’ the dancers about who they are just to be sure.

Band
This dance is another self-explanatory dance, making it easy to do with novice and young dancers.

Honour to your partners and bow to your corners all
All join hands and circle left, you circle ‘round the hall
Now circle to the right, go the other way back and then
When you’re home, you swing your own and promenade the hall

The first couple separate go round the outside track
Pass your partner goin’ by and meet ‘em coming back
Now pass your partner once again and bow to your corners all
Turn around and swing your own and promenade the hall

Singing Oh Solomon Levi La la la la la la la

The second couple, third couple, fourth couple,
head two couples, side two couples, and everybody.

Now all join hands and circle left, go once around the track
And when you get back home again, go into the center and back
