I change the name of the fair every time I sing it in a new place. I like to make it seem like I’m singing about a local event. Ask the children to name their favourite pies. You can have more pennies so that more children can choose a flavour or the price of pies could go up and you might need dollars instead of pennies. The last time ask them to think of the pie they wanted to say but didn’t have a chance to say it, then they can call it out.

Lyrics

I went down to the County fair,
I had 5 pennies and I spent one there.
I bought an apple pie and I took it home,
I put it on the shelf and I sang this song:
Pie pie pie pie, I can’t get enough of that apple pie.
Pie, pie, pie pie, I can’t get enough of that pie.

Raspberry pie
Blueberry pie
Cherry
Lemon Meringue

Last verse:
I went down to the County fair,
I had no money to pay the fare.
I didn’t buy a pie to put on the shelf,
So if you want anymore you can sing it yourself.
